Medical Alarm System Comparison

What is a Medical Alert System?

You have heard the horror stories of people or even friends who have fallen and can't get up. What can you do? How would you feel knowing that you can get help whenever you need it!

Now, rest better knowing you CAN get help. By wearing your alert button (see the comparison chart below for the button types offered), help is just a button push away. A Medical Alert System (sometimes called a personal emergency response system or personal medical alerts) will bring you help if you have fallen and can't get up with the push of that button. Most Emergency Medical Alarm Services do charge a small monthly subscription fee. But that fee becomes insignificant when compared to the security of knowing help is moments away in your time of need.

Which Medical Alarm System is right for me?

There are many fine emergency response alert systems available. We have chosen some of the more popular ones (Life Station, Lifeline Systems, Life Alert, LifeFone, Life Responder, and Life 911 Plus) to compare to aid you in your decision of the best service for you.

Great medical alert system

I just got a new medical alarm for my mom at medipendant.com and it works great. They have no contract and their price is affordable. Best of all unlike her old unit my mom can now go outside because the operator talks directly thru the pendant.

A Friend in Need
Reply #17 on : Wed December 16, 2009, 21:19:00
One of my elder neighbors came to visit me today. I was surprised as I have not seen him in awhile. After friendly greetings, he said that his wife had fallen and could not get up. Then he asked if I could/would go with him to help her.

Of course, I said, "Yes!" We went right down there and I was able to pull her into a standing position while her husband got her wheel chair for her. Thank God she was not hurt. However, she was very weak from attempting to pull herself up so many times.

I took this opportunity to tell them about Medical Alert Systems and suggested they look into them. The husband said it was thirty minutes before his wife called him as she was embarrassed about having fallen and not being able to get up.

He told me he had fallen recently himself and had to crawl to the bathroom and use the pull bars to get himself standing again.

What is the security of knowing that someone is one button away from helping you? Put yourself in their shoes. What will you do?

You should consider whether you really need a professional monitoring service (in other words monthly fees involved) or could your situation be satisfied with senior monitoring equipment (also/sometimes called baby monitoring equipment)?

Follow our "Click here to review potential monitoring equipment options" link in the "What should I do Next" section above to see what we are talking about. (There is no obligation to buy but we would sure appreciate it)

I search all over the place and found a company that let me have a system that works perfect for my mom. There is no monitoring service fees and it calls me when my mom needs me or has an emergnecy. Everyone needs to know about this.
You can find them by Googling 'Assistive Technology Services no monthly fees'
