Gardening not only brings about a feel of calmness and tranquility with beautiful colors and scents, but it is great exercise also! If you have not started dabbling in gardening yet there is no time like right now to get started. I would recommend starting simple with a few house plants or possibly an herb garden. Then migrate to something with a little more pizzazz would be to grow a vegetable (like a tomato) in a container.
Container gardening is a great gardening technique for people with limit mobility to those who can dance all night. Your imagination is the limit as to what type of contain you could use for gardening. What about using an old piano, a small boat, or drawers in an old dresser. Now those containers would certainly starts some conversations!
Once you feel more at ease with your gardening technique, branch out into other areas like fruit trees/brushes, outside flowering bushes (azaleas, butterfly bushes, etc.). If your garden needs some extra loving once in a while, invite some friends over for a gardening party. This will make a great social event and you can get your gardening work done as well. Just be prepared to play host/hostess and feed them!
